They say a change is as good as a rest. And as you are perhaps aware, the band has gone through some little tectonic shifts over the past year, with both Alistair and Anthony moving on to new things, and the two of us pondering the next story we’d like to tell. It’s a been a somewhat reflective time, both personally and globally. And for Tim and I this has led to the writing of a collection of songs attempting to make sense of it all. We think we’ve created something perhaps more intimate than the previous album. And in our own, typically non literal way, have attempted to capture something of where the world is at and how things have felt through the last twelve months.
So we’d like to bring you in, sit you down around the fire, and share it with you.
As always, we want to make and tour our music in our way, and so we’ve teamed up with Pledge, like we did for the last album, to fund this labour of love. Join in and you can get your name in the album credits, pre-order exclusive vinyl, treat yourself to a posh hardback book of all of our lyrics, book tickets to our exclusive album launch in beautiful St Pancras’ church or ask us to come and play in your house: it’s a chance to participate in what we do, from a simple download to the chance to own the original album art we’ve commissioned from famous typewriter artist Keira Rathbone, or the guitar that Tim made Motorcade Amnesiacs with.
